The number beside each subject is how many questions we have written on it for Manitoba. A subject appears here once there are enough of them to be worth sitting down with.
Two cars reach an unsigned Winnipeg intersection at nearly the same time. The other car is on your right. Who yields?
Correct answer: You yield to the vehicle on your right
At an uncontrolled intersection, the vehicle on the left yields to the vehicle on the right. Arriving together does not make vehicle size a tie-breaker.
A cyclist travels ahead on a Manitoba road and there is room to pass. What side space must you keep as you go by?
Correct answer: At least one metre between your vehicle and the bicycle
Manitoba's passing rule requires at least one metre beside a bicycle or power-assisted bicycle. Leave more space when conditions make the minimum unsafe.
A Manitoba school bus has flashing red warning lamps operating on an undivided road. You approach from the opposite direction. What must you do?
Correct answer: Stop at least five metres away and do not pass while the red lamps flash
The Act requires vehicles approaching from either direction to stop at least five metres away while the red warning system operates. Children may cross into your lane after leaving the bus.
A Winnipeg student is 15 years and six months old and wants a Class 5L licence. Which situation lets them apply now?
Correct answer: They are enrolled in a Driver Z course that is in progress
MPI permits an application at this age only while the applicant is enrolled in a qualifying course that is in progress. Otherwise the ordinary minimum age is 16.
An ambulance with siren and required lights approaches as you are about to enter a Manitoba intersection. What action leaves its route clear?
Correct answer: Pull toward the curb and stop clear of the intersection
The emergency vehicle rule requires a driver to clear an intersection, move toward the curb and stop until it passes. Blocking the junction can delay the ambulance.
Every question here was written against the handbook and the legislation that Manitoba Public Insurance publishes, and every one carries the reason for its answer and the section it rests on.

All four figures are counted from the questions themselves when the site is built, rather than typed in by hand.
None of them is copied from another practice site, and none is generated from an unnamed source. If a question looks wrong to you, it may be wrong: say which one and what you think it should say, through the corrections route on the methodology page, and it gets checked against the source rather than argued about.
