What this site is
DriveTest Canada is an independent study site. It is not a licensing authority, and nothing on it is legal advice. It cannot issue, renew or book a licence or a test for you. It is not affiliated with DriveTest, Serco, the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, ICBC, the SAAQ, any provincial licensing body or any government.
No guarantee of passing
Practice here can help you prepare, but it does not guarantee a pass on any knowledge test or road test. The questions are written for this site. They are not the official exam questions.
Accuracy and corrections
Facts are checked against official sources, and every figure shows its source and the date it was checked. Rules and fees still change. When something is wrong it is fixed and the date moves with it, as the corrections rule explains. To report an error, use the contact page.
Official sources win
If this site and an official source differ, the official source is right. The licensing body in your province has the final word on any rule, fee or waiting period.
Intellectual property
The practice questions, explanations, road sign drawings and text on this site are the site's own work. Please do not copy them wholesale or republish them. Official sources are quoted with attribution, and statutes are cited so you can read them yourself. The Alberta Driver's Guide is used under the Open Government Licence for Alberta, which allows reuse with attribution.
Advertising and editorial independence
Advertising pays for the site, which is why it is free to use with no paywall. Ads are served by Google AdSense. Advertisers do not choose or influence what the pages say. There are no paid placements and no affiliate links today. The privacy page explains advertising cookies and your consent choice.
Acceptable use
Read, practise and share links as much as you like. Please do not scrape the site at a rate that burdens it, republish the question bank, try to break or overload the site, or present it as an official government service.
Links to other sites
The site links to official sources and to other sites it does not control. It is not responsible for what those sites say or how they handle your data.
Limitation of liability
The site is provided as it is, free of charge. Vikas D. works to keep it accurate, but cannot accept responsibility for a loss that comes from relying on it instead of the official source. Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under the law that applies to you.
Governing law
The site is operated from the United Kingdom and written for Canadian readers.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the date at the top of this page changes with them.
