Thirty five questions, and 28 correct to pass. It is the same test Class 2 and Class 4 applicants sit.
You get 45 minutes.
Class 3 covers trucks with more than two axles, such as a dump truck or a large tow truck.
Eighteen is the age for Class 3, and at 18 you need a parent or guardian to consent.
Class 3 does not allow air brakes on its own. That is a separate 25 question test with 20 correct to pass.

Can I take the ICBC knowledge test online?

Yes. Since June 9, 2026, ICBC lets you take the passenger vehicle (class 5 and 7) and motorcycle (class 6 and 8) knowledge tests online, on a computer with a webcam. You have up to 72 hours after registering to start, and 45 minutes to finish in a single session, and the $15 test fee is paid online. Passing does not hand you the licence: you still visit a driver licensing office, where you pay the licence fee separately.

How many questions are on the ICBC knowledge test?

Fifty, and you get 45 minutes to work through them. The timer is generous for the number of questions, so most people run out of certainty long before they run out of time.
