What the licensing body scores
Road signs are their own section on the G1 knowledge test: 20 of the 40 questions, scored apart from rules of the road.
You need 16 of those 20 right to pass the signs section, on the same attempt as the rules section. A strong score in one section does not carry the other.
69 of the 137 questions written for the G1 knowledge test are sign questions and 68 are rules of the road. Every sign is an original drawing and every question is original prose with its own citation, never copied from the exam bank itself.
