New Brunswick Class 7 written tests

The NB drivers test has no published numeric pass mark, and Service New Brunswick publishes no question count. The listed fee is $25 for the first attempt; the online test page states $25 plus HST. Every row carries the record it was read from and the date it was checked.

• The Road Sign Recognition Exam and Rules of the Road Non-Commercial Knowledge Exam are separate. You retake only a test you fail.
• Take the tests online or in person, in either official language. Oral testing can be arranged through SNB Teleservices.
• Bring at least 1 acceptable identification document and at least 2 documents proving New Brunswick residency. Applicants under 18 also need a completed parental consent form.
• The vision standard is 20/40 in the best eye. After an online pass, wait at least 4 business days before completing the vision test at an SNB office other than Campobello.
• Study the New Brunswick Driver's Handbook.
• Official retake pages conflict. The SNB online page says wait 1 day before attempt 2 and 1 week before attempt 3. The GNB written-test page says there is no waiting period.
• After 3 failed online attempts, the test must be taken in person at a Service New Brunswick Driver Examiner office.
• The first-attempt fee page is effective August 1, 2026. A Class 7 road test costs $25 per attempt.
• Level 2 starts at age 16 years and 8 months with driver training, or age 17 without it. Level 1 drivers must have zero drugs and alcohol.
